Rooted In Silence is a deadly combination of dark desires and persistence. I loved the botanical theme which seems to be a lesser used lethal method in the books that I typically read. I’d love to know more about Emily and how she developed her botanical interests and where her darkness comes from. Was she already interested in deadly concoctions before she met Miss Volkova or was her interest piqued after they met? I have so many questions left unanswered which leaves me even more excited for the next installment! I felt some feelings toward the end and experienced emotional whiplash alternating between sadness and relief and back again. This book is unlike anything I’ve read before and it was something I had to read when I could dedicate my full attention to it because to do otherwise would be a disservice to the beautiful but heavy writing.
